COHOES Edith L. Wilcox, 92, of Pasinella Way and formerly of Schenectady died peacefully, Tuesday Mar. 21, 2017 at the Eddy Village Green. Born in Saugus, MA, Edith was the daughter of the late Ernest and and Caroline Mailman Blamy.

Edith was raised and educated in Massachusetts and moved to this area with her husband Gordon in 1954. She was a former communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. She worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile in Schenectady for over 35 years and also volunteered her time as a dog walker for the Animal Protective Assc. of Schenectady.

Edith was known for her artistic ability painting portraits of animals and homes. She also loved to spend time horseback riding.

Edith was the beloved wife of Gordon R. Wilcox who passed in 2008. She was the loving mother of Robert E. Wilcox and his wife Patricia of Westerlo and was the sister of the late Edwin F. Pearson and Ida Oaks. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Hannah M. Wilcox as well as by her niece and nephew, Richard and Judith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Edith Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 20 Page Ave., Cohoes. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
