Obituary for Madeline Sapone

Madeline Sapone
EASTON Madeline A. Sapone, 81, of Deerfield Lane died Tuesday April 4, 2017 Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of Arthur R. and Bertha Cummings Bouchard. She was a graduate of Waterford High School and Siena College and had studied the French Language while a student in the Alsace Lorraine Region of France.

Madeline had been employed as assistant Registrar Siena College for over 30 years and retired in 1998. She also had taught French at LaSalle Institute, Milne School and North Colonie Schools. She was active in the Democratic Party in Halfmoon and Easton and served as an Election Inspector in Easton. She was a member of the Mother’s Club at St. Mary’s School in Waterford while her children attended there. She also was a member of her High School Lunch Bunch as well as being a member of the North Troy Rod & Gun Club.

She was the widow of Nicholas Sapone and is the loving mother of Nicole B. Sapone of Easton and Matthew F. Sapone (Kristina) of Schuylerville. She is the sister of Mary Eleanor Hill of Troy and the late Margaret Lourdes Wells. She is the proud grandmother of Marina, Elena and Sonia Sapone. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

Those who wish may make contributions to Siena College in Memory of Madeline Sapone in care of the funeral home office.

Special thanks are extended to the staff in the ICU Unit at Saratoga Hospital, especially Doctors Kimball, Reynolds and Ying.
