Donna Mae Galarneau (Julian)
WATERFORD Donna Galarneau, 75, of Middletown Rd. passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born and raised in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late Frank T. and Anna Mae Morrissey Julian. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School.
Donna had owned and operated Donna’s Hair Stylist in Cohoes for 30 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Red Hats and the Black Hats. She was active in St. Mary’s School Mother’s Club while her children were students there. Donna enjoyed traveling and fondly remembered trips to the Caribbean, Ireland, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, shopping and taking pictures. A people person, she enjoyed entertaining and having people around her. She will be lovingly remembered for her themed parties. Her favorite times were Sunday family dinners.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, former Waterford Town Justice Raymond E. Galarneau, her devoted children Julianne J. Furlong (Bill) of Waterford, Edmond R. Galarneau of Albany and Laurie F. Kuhne of Clifton Park. She is the proud grandmother of AnnaRae and Jack Furlong, Adam Galarneau, Emily and Dean Kuhne. A devoted wife mother and grandmother, Donna’s true passion was the love of her family. She cherished the times they spent together especially playing board games with her grandchildren, they were the focus of her life.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on SATURDAY from 1-4 p.m.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Restoration Fund.
