Obituary for Carol McCrea
WATERFORD Carol Ann McCrea, 66, of Hillview Terrace. Passed away peacefully Wednesday May 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy she was the cherished daughter of Lucy Baldwin. She was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School and Hudson Valley Community College where she received her Nursing Degree.
Carol was retired from United Health Care. She had also been employed by Northeast Health Care and Leisure Arms Nursing Home.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as knitting, crocheting and visiting casinos where she enjoyed playing the slot machines. She was a selfless individual who put her family’s needs above all else. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, friend and role model.
Survivors include her devoted children, Tina Ryan of Rome, Robert McCrea II (Cathleen) of Waterford, Daniel McCrea (Jillian) of Latham, Heather Phelan (Howard) of Waterford and Michael McCrea (Rachel) of Clifton Park. She was sister of Patricia Baldwin of Troy, Michael Baldwin (Debbie) and Susan Douiahy of Cohoes, Kevin Baldwin (Pat) of Michigan and Nancy Williams (Ernie) of Clifton Park. She was the proud grandmother of Joshua, Connor, Emily, Dan Jr., Zachary, Samuel, Jacob, Mackenzie and Ryder McCrea. Hannah, Thomas and Howard III Phelan, Julianna and Brennen Mone, Patrick and Devon Ryan and great grandmother of Patrick Ryan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions thru the funeral home office to the Carol A. McCrea Scholarship Fund, a nursing scholarship to be established for struggling single mothers.
