Obituary for Libby M. Hostig (Khoury)

Libby M. Hostig (Khoury)
WATERFORD Libby Mary Rose Hostig, 87, of Saratoga Ave. died suddenly Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late George and Martha Antone Khoury. She was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School.

Libby was a member of the F.B. Peck Hose Co. Women’s Auxiliary, the Waterford Senior Citizens and had been active in Troop 632 of the Cub and Boy Scout Program in Waterford and has continued her involvement with the Twin Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

She was the widow of Michael Hostig to whom she had been married for 43 years. She was the loving mother of Kathy McCormick (William) of Waterford, Michael G. Hostig of Waterford, Diana Stone (Kenneth) of Brunswick, Jo-Anne Hostig (Melody DeMass) of Ballston Lake and the late Elizabeth Rose Hostig. She is predeceased by her siblings Elias and Farah Khoury. She is the proud grandmother of Dorena Frank (Keith) and Michael Stone (Elaine). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday at 8:45 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Maplewood.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Augustine’s Church Heritage Fund, 25 115th St., Troy, NY 12182.
