Obituary for Gerard "Jerry" Chouinard

Gerard "Jerry" Chouinard
HALFMOON As one life begins, another moves on. On Tuesday October 31, 2017, Gerard “Jerry” Chouinard departed this earth, but not before welcoming into the world his first great grandson an hour and a half earlier. Born in Indian Orchard, MA he was the son of the late Lionel and Alexandria Cote Chouinard. He was a 1947 graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy.

Jerry had been employed by WRGB TV-06 for over 35 years as Crew Chief of the Audio Visual Department. He retired in 1992. He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Corps assigned as Post Photographer during the Korean War. He was a life member of the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 in Halfmoon.

Jerry was a proud man and was devoted to his faith, family and country and willingly served them all. Life can be difficult at times, but we have to find the humor in every situation as Jerry always did.

He and his devoted wife Irene Nadeau Chouinard, who survives, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on this past October 15th. He is also survived by his loving children, Glenn R. Chouinard (Peggy), of Federal Way, WA, Marie B. Marois (Thomas) of Clifton Park, Allen G. Chouinard (Kathy) of Smyrna, GA, Patricia A. Cadrette of Rexford and Michele L. Kosek (Joseph) of Halfmoon. He is the proud grandfather of Jon and Adam Chouinard, Brian, Lauren and William Marois, Justin and Sydney Cadrette, Alexandria and Jerad Kosek and great grandfather of Elodie and Neil.

Jerry was predeceased by his two sisters, Doris Wells and Loretta Morrow.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Crescent. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the church prior to the Funeral Mass on Saturday from 9-10 a.m.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Special thanks are extended to Nicole, Justine and Helen of Hospice and Dr. Ford.
