Obituary for Andrew Lessard

Andrew  Lessard
WATERFORD Andrew T. Lessard, 53, of Columbus Ave. died peacefully Friday, November 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was son of Francis Lessard (Rebecca) of Taveares, FL and of the late Mary Salmon Lessard.

Andy was raised and educated in Waterford. He graduated from Waterford Halfmoon High School in 1981 and from HVCC in 1983. He went on to work for 20 years at Lafarge Cement in Ravena and then Essroc Cement in West Virginia. Most recently he had been employed as a supervisor at Norlite in Cohoes.

In his spare time he loved to travel (especially to the beach) and to golf. He also loved to go snowmobiling and was renowned for his extensive knowledge of history.

Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Theresa Drobnicki Lessard and by his three loving children, Jaimie, Kyle and Renee all of Waterford. He is also survived by his three siblings, Lisa Saunders of Waterford, Paula Cooper (Mike) and Milissa Lessard all of Cohoes as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Andy’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110
