Obituary for Lester E. Slade

Lester E. Slade
HALFMOON Lester E. Slade, 91, died peacefully Sunday November 12, 2017. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Leslie and Anne Stephenson Slade. He was educated in Lansingburgh schools.

Lester was a plaster mason and a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Union in Albany. He retired in 1989. He enjoyed dancing and socializing with family and friends. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in World War II. (The Greatest Generation)

Survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years Mary Connors Slade and his loving children Deborah Coppola (Joe), Sandra J. Milter and Lester Slade of Mechanicville. He is the brother of Shirley Curtis and proud grandfather of Brad E. Chamberlain (Jen), Joseph D. Coppola (Carolyn), Sean M. Coppola and Joyce Lue (Kevin) and great grandfather of Joshua, Sam, Nathan and Brandon.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will follow at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
