Obituary for Charles Macy

Charles  Macy
HALFMOON Charles J. Macy, 94, formerly of Lape Rd. died peacefully Friday December 1, 2017 at the Home of the Good Shepard in Malta with his loving son Ernie at his side. Born in Cohoes he was the son of the late Charles R. and Roseanne Nailor Macy. He was educated in Halfmoon and Waterford schools.

Charles was employed for 26 years at Norton Co. in Watervliet and retired in 1986. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II. He was a member of the United Papermakers and Paperworkers Union.

Charles was the husband of the late Lucille Dingley Macy who died in 2004. He is the loving father of Charles F. Macy (Phyllis) of Jacksonville, FL, Ernest J. Macy of Latham and the late Joseph T. Macy. He is the brother of Mary Pipino of Clifton Park, the late Monica Elliott, Ernest Macy and Kenneth Messier. He is the proud grandfather of Peter and Matthew Macy and great grandfather of Morgan and Margaret

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm.

Special thanks are extended to the staff at the Home of the Good Shepard for the loving care given Charles during his stay there.
