Obituary for Dorothy T. Rehm (Thomas)

MELROSE Dorothy T. Rehm, 87, formerly of Melrose died Sunday December 3, 2017 at Eddy Heritage House in Troy. Born in Ballston Spa she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Brenn Thomas. She was a 1945 graduate Mechanicville schools and had attended Harwick College and Mildred Ely Business School.

Dorothy was retired from the New York State Assembly where she had been employed as a legal secretary. Prior to that she was employed at the NYS Facilities Development Corp. She was a member of the CSEA, The Order of the Eastern Star, Star of Liberty Chapter. She was a member and President of both the Red Hat Society and Resident Council at Eddy Heritage House.

Dorothy was the widow of C. Donald Rehm. She is the aunt of Robert Rehm (Gary Walker), Sheila Cristello, Scott Herkenham (Shirley), Gregg Herkenham (Shilrey), Bruce Thomas (Patty), Brent Thomas (Joy), Barry Thomas (Patty), Brian Thomas (Cindy), Blain Thomas (Becky), Bethe Thompson and Betsy Rouse (Mark). Several grandnieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 pm.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard or the Staff Appreciation or Activity Fund at Eddy Heritage House.

Special thanks are extended to the staff and administration at Eddy Heritage House for the love and outstanding care extended to Dorothy as well to Community Hospice.
