WATERFORD Rudolph G. Nikles, 99, formerly of Middletown Rd. died Friday December 8, 2017 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born and educated in Troy he was the son of the late Rudolf J. and Freda Kehn Nikles.
Mr. Nikles was retired from Kelly Clothes in Latham. Prior to that he was employed at Cohoes Manufacturing and G. E. Silicones. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in WW II. He was a member of the K of C Council 237 in Waterford, the Cohoes Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Holy Name Society at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. He enjoyed life and loved his family.
He was the loving husband of Anna Ressler Nikles who died in 2013. He is the devoted father of Ellen Cobb (Charles) of California, Gail Van Buren of Virginia, Richard T. Nikles (Donna) of Troy and the late Rudolph J. and James R. Nikles. He is the father in law of Carol Nikles of Waterford and Judy Nikles of Wisconsin and brother of Frank Nikles of Florida and the late Joseph Nikles and Louise Boisen. 11 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
