Obituary for David Brown

David  Brown
COHOES David A. Brown, 69, of Santanoni Dr. died peacefully Thursday January 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Nyack he was the son of Nell Perkins McGraw of Southbridge, MA and the late Robert Brown. He received his early education in Auburn, MA and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University.

David had been employed for 20 years as Plant Manager for Sealed Air Corp in Scotia where he was very active in plant safety at the corporate level. He retired in 2012. He had also been employed at the former Bendix Corp for 7 years. He was a veteran of both the US Army and US Air Force having served during the Viet Nam War in Germany.

He especially enjoyed time spent with his family, was an avid golfer, fisherman and Red Sox fan.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his loving wife of 41 years Maria Odio Brown and his devoted children, Deborah Ann Smarro (Terry Jr.), Michelle Lee Foster (Richard) of Troy and Jamie Lynn Brown (Valerie) of Buffalo. He is the brother of Kenneth N. Brown of Virginia Beach, VA and Cynthia Foskett of Dudley, MA. He is the proud grandfather of Nathan, Lucas, Jonah, Ryan, Travis, Jackson and Kayden.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy. Interment with Military Honors will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
