Obituary for Gregory J. Knorr

Gregory J. Knorr
CLIFTON PARK Gregory J. Knorr, 52, of Rte. 9 and formerly of Waterford died suddenly Saturday March 10, 2018 at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. A Waterford native he is the son of Cynthia Castracani Knorr of Waterford and the late Frank Knorr. He was a 1985 graduate of Waterford High School and held several degrees in Commercial and Residential Construction. He was a nationally certified form, frame, and finish carpenter.

Greg has served as Town of Waterford Building Inspector for the past 4 years. Prior to that he was a Superintendent at Bast Hatfield Construction for 23 years and had also worked at the GE RECO Construction Division in Waterford. He was a longtime member of the F.B. Peck Hose Co. in Waterford. Like his father he was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Greg was devoted to his family and friends. He was always ready to drop everything and help someone in need.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother Jeffrey F. Knorr (Nadia) and his sister Heidi J. Knorr of Waterford and his loving companion Nancy A. Baran of Halfmoon. He was the proud uncle of Francis Gregory Knorr. He is also survived by a grand aunt, several cousins and his canine companion Zeus.

Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 pm.
