Obituary for Irving "Keller" DeVoe

WATERFORD Irving F. “Keller” DeVoe, 89, formerly of Hillview Ave. died Monday March 26, 2018 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Halfmoon he was the son of the late Leland and Lois Taylor DeVoe. He was educated in Halfmoon and Waterford schools.

Irv had been employed for 33 years at the Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford and retired in 1989. Prior to that he worked at the former ALCO in Schenectady. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Little Spruce Hunt Club.

Irving is survived by his wife of 69 years, the love of his life, Ann Clement DeVoe. He is the father of Sharon Sliwinski (Joseph) of Waterford, Sheila Nailor of Ballston Spa and Marla Scarchilli (Michael) of Mechanicville and the late infant Mark Jeffrey DeVoe. He is brother of the late Victor, Stanley, Stuart, Lloyd and Anne DeVoe. He is the proud grandfather of Joseph Sliwinski, Laura Beyer, Stefhanie Scarchilli-Lisky, Angela and Alexandrea Scarchilli, JonMark and Autumn Joy Nailor and great grandfather of Madison, Lillian, Grace and David.

Funeral from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford on Monday at noon and at 12:30 pm at Grace Church, 36 3rd St., Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford on Monday from 10 am to noon prior to the funeral.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
