Obituary for Michael Muzio

Michael  Muzio
WATERFORD Michael W. Muzio, 90, of Lower Newtown Rd. died Thursday March 29, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy he was educated in Mechanicville schools and was son of the late Michael A. and Eva Galusky Muzio.

Mike had been employed for 28 years at Tagsons Papers in Mechanicville and retired in 1995. He was a decorated veteran of the US Navy and had served in World War II on several ships including the USS Eldorado. He had spent a number of years in Myrtle Beach, SC before returning to this area in2016. Mike was proud of his Navy service and spent much time volunteering on the USS Slater in the Port of Albany and had donated an honorary compass in his possession to the Slater.

He is the husband of the late Carol Muzio, and father of Kimberly Guilianelli (Bob) of Waterford. He is brother of Frank Muzio (Kathy) of Clifton Park, Leonard Muzio (Jacqueline), Gary Muzio (Linda) and Donald Muzio (Michelle) all of Stillwater, the late Joseph and Edward Muzio, Florence Bonneau and Anna Robillard. He is the proud grandfather of Ryan, Michael and Sharon and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 6 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 pm prior to the service.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation, 406 W. 34th St. Kansas City, MO 64111.
