WATERFORD Thomas B. Taylor, 80, of Higgins Rd. died Monday May 21, 2018 at his residence. Born and educated in Ireland he was the son of the late Michael and Bridget Browne Taylor. He came to this country in 1956 and settled in Troy briefly before moving to Waterford.
Tommie was employed for 35 years at the former Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Colonie Lodge of Elks and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. In his earlier years he was an avid bowler and belonged to both Bowling and Dart leagues at Camps Tavern in Waterford.
He is the devoted husband of Jayne E. Putnam Taylor who survives and the late Mary B. McPadden Taylor who died in 1976. He is the beloved father of Betty Anne Romando (John) of Lakewood, NJ, M. Eileen Vierling and Kathy E. Vulcano of Waterford and step father of Paul D. Brown of Waterford and Beth J. Hage (Erik) of Poestenkill. He is the brother of Christine Carnero (Manny) of Houston, TX and the late Una Kiernan, May Buttery, Rita Reynolds, Leicia Lucas and Joe Taylor. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
