Obituary for Lynn Lyons (Rushkoski)

Lynn Lyons (Rushkoski)
LANSINGBURGH Lynn E. Lyons, 57, of 6th Ave. died Sunday June 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in Troy she is the daughter of Patricia Clarke Rushkoski of Cohoes and the late John A. Rushkoski. She was a 1979 graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Lynn was employed for 20 years as a Child Case Worker at Parsons Family and Child Center in Albany and retired in 2017. Prior to that she was employed at the former Grand Union Store on Northern Drive in Lansingburgh.

Lynn was known to all as a loving and caring person, always a smile on her face, and always ready to lend a helping hand to someone in need even though they might be a complete stranger. She enjoyed camping, bowling and visiting the seashore, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Clarkie.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Edward J. Lyons and her devoted daughter Lindsey M. Breen (Peter) of Mechanicville. She is the sister of John C. Rushkoski (Sharon) of Bearsville, Peter J. Rushkoski (Judy) of Gainesville FL, Paul J. Rushkoski (Mary) of Waterford and the late Mary E. Rushkoski. She is the proud grandmother of Clarkson Repp and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Community Hospice, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
