Obituary for Anthony Blaauboer

Anthony Blaauboer
WATERFORD Anthony J. Blaauboer, 14, of 3rd St. died unexpectedly Thursday August 9, 2018. He would celebrate his 15th birthday on August 11. Raised in Waterford he is the son of Jeff and Michelle Blaauboer. He would have entered 9th grade in September at Waterford Halfmoon School.

In his short but full lifetime Anthony charted his own course and engaged in many pursuits. He was an adventurous vlogger, was the curator of the smallest museum in Waterford, operated his sidewalk museum which he used for some of his fundraising projects for numerous charities that he supported. He has made videos of historic places in Waterford, was a comic strip style artist and started many clubs for his friends to participate in. He was a National Honor Society member and a budding athlete being known for his team spirit. No matter what the endeavor, Anthony was in it 100%.

He was an ambassador of kindness. He was friendly, outgoing, curious and determined. He took pleasure in even the smallest event or trivial item. He loved well, lived well and is loved well. He lived every day because today is what he was living. We should all be like Anthony, so whenever a thought of Anthony crosses your mind, consider it a nudge to do something kind.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister Giada Blaauboer. He is the grandson of Carol Blaauboer of Clifton Park and the late John Blaauboer and Marcelo and Medilina Alfiler of Italy. Numerous adoring aunts, uncles and close-knit cousins also survive.

Relatives and friends may visit with Anthony’s family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford on Tuesday from 4-8 pm

A Memorial Service will be held at Legacy Church, 282 Elsmere Ave., Delmar on Wednesday at 10 am.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Waterford Police Benevolent Association, 65 Broad St., Waterford, NY 12188
