Obituary for Ryan Paul Bussey

Ryan Paul Bussey
WATERFORD Ryan Paul Bussey passed away Wednesday, April 11th. Ryan fought a long hard battle with bipolar disorder and depression.

Ryan was born July 27th, 1978 in Waterford NY, and was a lifelong resident. Ryan graduated from Waterford-Halfmoon and Modern Welding School. In the past Ryan was employed on the Tug Boats for Hess Corporation in Brooklyn Harbor NY. While working on the tugs, Ryan was proud to have saved a family when their sailboat capsized, and he found them clinging to it, he was able to rescue four of the family members and help recover their missing father. Ryan was a member of the Local 83 Sheet Metal Workers Union working on the construction of Global Foundries.

Ryan loved the outdoors, nature and spent his time hiking, trail bike riding, fishing, and exploring NY State Parks and Mountains. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and especially growing strawberries and blackberries for his nieces and nephews to pick with him. He also enjoyed playing golf and cards with friends. Ryan’s favorite thing to do was to take his ‘best buddy’ Chico out for walks on Peebles Island.

We ask that you open your heart and offer compassion without judgment for those that suffer from illness rooted in stigma, trauma or shame. We will miss Ryan every minute of every day, forever.

Ryan is survived by his parents Paul Bussey and Barbara Forchilli Cope (Jim), his sisters Karah Bussey (Ben Kelts), Jessica Baldwin (Nick), and brother Mark Forchilli. As well as his nieces and nephews Michael, Sierra, Isaac, Greg, Brody, Savannah, Myla, and Estella who were very special to him. Step sisters Liza Bondurant and Regina Cope. In addition to Aunts, Uncles, Cousins
