Obituary for Nancy M. Jeavons (McLaughlin)

Nancy M. Jeavons (McLaughlin)
ALBANY Following a determined 8 year battle with breast cancer Nancy (McLaughlin) Jeavons passed away on Friday June 15, 2018, at age 62.

Nancy was born in Albany to wonderful parents Frederick and Reta Cooper McLaughlin. She was a 1974 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and retired from the NYS Dept. of Labor in 2011. Nancy was a volunteer at the Christ Our Light Church Food Pantry; and a regular donor to Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Food Pantries of the Capital District, and Blessingdale’s.

Nancy is survived by her husband Tim, daughters Courtney Degli-Angeli, whose husband Harry passed away in 2017 and Elizabeth Martin and her husband Mike. Nancy was “Chancy” to her greatest gifts of all, granddaughters Berkeley Cooper Martin and Sawyer Alessia Martin. Nancy is also survived by Joan McLaughlin and family, Holly Wheeler and family, Michael Jeavons and family, as well as various relatives throughout the U.S. Nancy will be greatly missed by her four-legged golden boy Declan of Harwich.

A note from Nancy: “Some of you are sad. Please don’t be. Tim and I have had a good life together, surrounded by caring and compassionate family and friends. We’ve enjoyed great family vacations, parties, delicious meals and a lot of conversation. People who have supported us are far too many to list here, you all know who you are. I would like to thank the Drs. and staff at DFCI and NYOH Patroon Creek. A special thank you to Drs. Maria Theodoulou and Duncan Savage, who are two of the most compassionate and caring physicians you will ever meet.”

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 7 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford with Rev. Karyl Hoppe officiating.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 prior to the service. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a date and location to be determined.

Please consider a donation in Nancy’s memory to Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
